Touted as a celebration of Second Amendment rights activism “shared by the people of the great state of Texas,” the Kimber Royal II (Texas Edition) sports a deep black oxide finish with high polished flats on the slide and frame that accentuates the western leaf and scroll engraving with a saw tooth border on the slide. The mainspring housing also features a matching engraving pattern. On the left bonded ivory grip panel is the 1835 motto, “Come and Take It.” On the right grip panel is the “Lone Star Flag” embedded inside an outline of the state of Texas.
“The Royal II (Texas Edition) is the perfect ‘black hat’ answer to the very popular Stainless II (Texas Edition) that we released back in 2015,” said Winslow Potter, Kimber’s director of product management, said in a statement. “Whether you’re looking to make a statement at an upcoming barbeque, round out your collection, or utilize the proven 1911 design for personal protection, the new Texas Edition pistol will not disappoint!”
Chambered in .45 ACP with a five-inch barrel and an overall weight of 38 ounces, the Kimber Royal II (Texas Edition) is limited to 800 units, with a serial range beginning with the prefix “TXEB.” Due out in the coming weeks, this 1911 has a suggested retail price of $1,633.
