The Bear OPS Bear Swipe IV
Featuring a 3.25-inch blade, the Bear Swipe IV provides a good length for typical EDC chores. However, the extra .25-inch may push it slightly past your local ordinances, so make sure to check your laws. A welcome touch of the Bear Swipe IV is that it is crafted right here in the United States.
Featuring a modified drop-point design, the blade is constructed of 14C28N Sandvik steel. 14C28N Sandvik is considered a higher-end high-carbon stainless steel with excellent durability, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. As a result, the edge can be brought to a very fine edge and hold it fairly well.
An assisted opening mechanism brings the Bear Swipe IV to its full 7.5-inch overall length via a thumb stud. Once open, a sturdy frame-lock design holds the blade in a sturdy lockup. Once closed, the knife has a comfortable 4.25-inch, 3.7-ounce footprint in the pocket.
The interface to the Bear Swipe IV is provided by two-tone, black and green G-10 handle scales. Chamfering around the grip assists with a comfortable grip and positive retention. Likewise, the chamfering also helps reduce snag points for a smoother draw.
The blade is available in your choice of black or bead blasted finish. Delivered in right-hand tip-up configuration, the pocket clip is reversable for left-hand tip-up carry. Additionally, the spine of the grip features a raised portion with lanyard hole for additional retention options.
