Bodyguard Series
S&W’s Bodyguard 380 and Bodyguard 38 are some of the smallest in its concealment line. Starting from scratch, S&W wanted to provide the best possible accuracy, reliability and ease of carry for deep concealment. The Bodyguard 380 is a double-action-only (DAO), hammer-fired pistol chambered in .380 ACP, and well suited to deep concealment or even pocket carry. At a bit under 12 ounces it is very light. Its integrated laser makes it perfect for situations where direct sighted fire is just not possible. A true pocket pistol, it provides simple and reliable concealment in a proven caliber.

The Bodyguard 38 satisfies those revolver aficionados in need of light weight and deep concealment. Built using state of the art manufacturing, this five-shot .38 Spl.+P revolver is one the first to integrate polymer materials. These materials, coupled with the latest in manufacturing, provide for a high-quality revolver at a reasonable price. Along with the side-mounted laser, it moves a centuries-old design into the present day, meeting the needs of the modern concealed carry user.

M&P Shield
Available in 9mm or .40, S&W’s Shield has taken the concealed-carry market by storm. Keeping the Shield slim makes it easily concealable. Standard pistol sights make it one of the easiest small pistols to properly aim, especially under stress. Utilizing a trigger and operating system similar to the full-sized M&P, it’s an easy transition for those using M&P pistols for duty or competition. The simple and subdued safety allows for safe carry in any position, or in a purse or pocket. Built from the ground up for the Shield, an available LaserMax unit “melts” into the gun’s lines, providing an incredibly clean look. Simple to operate and reliable, it adds just another dimension to this already well-built weapon.

Having carried a Shield extensively in 9mm, I can attest to its usability. It is the only truly compact pistol I carry these days, and for good reason. It is accurate, reliable and has usable sights. It has proven completely reliable and incredibly easy to conceal. It fits well into a pocket or a good IWB holster, my favorite means of carry. With an extended magazine, even my larger hands can get a good hold. It provides an 8+1 capacity in 9mm, with 7+1 available in .40 caliber. I tested the 9mm version at 15 yards with Federal 147-grain Hydra-Shok loads. Velocity out of the short barrel measured 893 feet per second, and the best group measured an impressively tight 1.21 inches.

M&P Compact
The M&P compact pistol is often the choice of those using full-sized pistols for duty use. Using the same controls, sights and even magazines, it provides for increased versatility. Chambered in 9mm, .40, .45 and even .357 SIG, it covers most every conventional cartridge currently fielded. Offered with a variety of sight packages, coatings and accessories, S&W’s M&P compacts include all of the features that make the full-size line so popular. The M&P9c is lightweight and measures a mere 6.7 inches, making it easily concealable and comfortable to carry. Crimson Trace Lasergrips make it easy to aim under adverse conditions and in unconventional shooting positions. Revolvers
S&W continues its legacy as the premier builder of fine revolvers designed for concealed carry. They vary in type from exposed hammer to shrouded to completely concealed. The grips can be simple rubber or laser equipped. Even the caliber choices have greatly improved.

A good example is the Model 640 Pro Series in .357 Mag., which features enhanced three-dot sights and the ability to accept moon clips. Models are made in various materials to include scandium and aluminum, as well as carbon and stainless steel. The J-Frame, S&W’s smallest revolver frame, and most commonly known as a Chief’s Special, is available in close to 40 different models. In keeping with the M&P’s focus on practical and usable carry, the M&P340 is built for hard use. Chambered in .357 Mag., it uses the most popular self-defense caliber for small revolvers. A scandium frame keeps it very light, and the concealed hammer allows for easier pocket carry or other methods of deep concealment. Utilizing XS Sights with tritium inserts, these pistols are 24-hour workhorses. Adding a Crimson Trace laser provides aiming in any condition.
