Nikon Introduces MONARCH 5 Riflescope Line

The following is a press release from Nikon

While it’s no secret that the wind can have an effect on the trajectory of a bullet, not all hunters and shooters have the training or experience to adequately compensate for the effects of wind drift. But thanks to two new product lines from Nikon Sport Optics, hunters and shooters now have an effective and easy-to-use system to compensate for bullet wind drift.

Nikon is pleased to announce the availability of the MONARCH 5 riflescope line, an exciting 2015 introduction that will surely be a flagship product for years to come. Not only does the MONARCH 5 riflescope line feature Nikon’s legendary ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lenses, it is also the first Nikon riflescope to utilize the new Advanced BDC reticle and has an incredible 5-time zoom ratio for superior close-quarters and long-range effectiveness.

The new glass-etched Advanced BDC reticle, similar to the standard BDC reticle, has unique open circles going down the vertical sight post that are used as aiming points to compensate for bullet drop at extended ranges. What differentiates the Advanced BDC reticle is that it also has windage marks on both the left and right side of the post. Each windage mark is calibrated for a 10-mile-per-hour cross wind when the rifle is zeroed at either 100 or 200 yards. Even if the cross wind is more or less than 10 mph, shooters now have a reliable benchmark to compensate for the effect that a strong gust of wind can have on their point of impact.

The optical system in the MONARCH 5 riflescope line is second-to-none and features Nikon’s ED Glass lenses that reduce chromatic aberration to provide images that have superior contrast. The riflescope also has Nikon’s Fully Multicoated Lenses for exceptional brightness and clarity.

Bringing the riflescope into focus is easy, thanks to a quick focus eyepiece located near the ocular lens. The MONARCH 5 riflescope also has a side focus locking system (except on 2-10×42 and 2-10×50 models) and Spring-Loaded Instant Zero-Reset turrets that allow the user to reset the turrets to the zero-mark after sighting in, making in-the-field adjustments incredibly simple.

Build to withstand the most rugged conditions, the MONARCH 5 line is built with a strong one-inch main body tube and comes with flip-open eyepiece and objective lens caps that protect your glass when you are not using the scope.

The MONARCH 5 riflescope is available in seven different magnifications, each with a phenomenal five-time zoom ratio: 2-10×42, 2-10×50, 3-15×42, 3-15×50, 4-20×50, 5-25×50, and 6-30×50. The MSRPs for the MONARCH 5 riflescope line range from $549.95 to $949.95.

Like all Nikon riflescopes, the MONARCH 5 is optimized for use with Spot On Ballistic Match Technology. The Spot On program provides users with exact aiming points on the BDC reticle for any load or ammunition at a specified range. Spot On is free online at NikonSportOptics.com/SpotOn and is now free for mobile devices, including the iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ platforms.
