VIDEO: SIG 1911-XSERIES Begins With the 1911-XFULL Pistol

SIG Sauer just announced the release of an all-new pistol line, one aimed squarely at bringing the world of 1911s into the realm of optics-ready platforms. The new 1911-SERIES line launches with its first option, the SIG 1911-XFULL.

SIG 1911-XFULL

Consider this classic design meeting modern innovation heads-on, with the more-than-century-old 1911 platform getting re-engineered to take on modern red dot application. SIG achieves this with an ultra-low-profile direct-mount system backed up with XRAY3 Day/Night sights.

The X-Full features an adjustable flat-blade trigger and custom G10 grip panels from LOK Grips. A railed, stainless steel frame, ambidextrous safety, front and rear serrations and a removable metal magazine well add tremendous appeal. A stylized carbon steel slide and serrated front strap deliver unique aesthetics for a modern, yet timeless 1911 package.

Editor’s Take:

It’s officially an optic-ready world when it comes to handguns. Whether for duty, concealed carry or sport, red dot optics have completely transformed the pistol market. It makes sense SIG would continue this trend, even on the venerable old 1911. For SIG fans in particular, we expect continued evolution in this space, making great platforms for defense or high-level competition.
