It wouldn’t be SHOT Show without Springfield Armory on hand to show off its latest wares that leave us drooling. There’s a lot that the Geneseo, Illinois-based manufacturer has on tap for this year, but for the purpose of brevity, we had the man himself, Rob Leatham, pare it down to just a few choice offerings in the video below.
First up is the availability of the XD Mod.2 4″ Service Model and 5″ Tactical Model in .45 ACP. The former is a full size double-stack offering that features a slim-contour frame; high visibility low-profile sights; a GripZone grip; and now 13+1 rounds of .45 ACP. The latter comes with a full five-inch hammer forged carbon steel barrel; measures just 1.2 inches wide; has GripZone contours and texturing; packs 13 rounds of .45 ACP ammo in each of its two stainless steel magazines and boasts Springfield’s High Hand grip near the beavertail and below the trigger guard.
Next is the big one. Say hello to the Springfield SAINT. It’s the company’s first entry into the AR-15 market. Chambered in 5.56mm NATO, the Springfield SAINT features a 16-inch Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel with a 1:8 twist rate; a flip-up rear aperture sight and fixed A2-style front sight; a Bravo Company PKMT KeyMod handguard; an M16 bolt carrier group; a direct impingement mid-length gas system; a Bravo Company 6 Position buttstock; a Bravo Company Mod 3 pistol grip; measures 35.5″ fully extended and 32.25″ collapsed; and is available at a suggested retail price of $899. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a personal defense AR-15.

Lastly is Springfield’s 4″ EMP Concealed Carry Contour model. This gun improves on the original EMP by combining a longer barrel with a frame trimmed for concealed carry. It features a four-inch, stainless steel, Match-Grade bull barrel with a fully supported feed ramp. The barrel has been housed in a forged stainless steel slide with a satin finish. It also features a fiber optic front & low profile combat rear sights; checkered black G-10 grip panels; and comes in a carry case with three nine-round mags offering a carry capacity of 10 rounds of 9mm, according to Springfield’s website.
Watch the video below to see the man, the myth, the legend, Rob Leatham, cycle some rounds with each of these guns!
