Remington Releases the 1911 R1 Tactical Pistol Series

Remington has released its new 1911 R1 Tactical .45 ACP pistol.

Built for precision and hard use, the 1911 R1 Tactical sports a five-inch, match-grade stainless steel barrel; stainless steel frame and slide; adjustable match-grade trigger; and a PVD coating.

The gun also features an ambidextrous thumb safety for operation in either hand; machined VZ Operator G10 grips; wide front and rear cocking serrations; and checkered mainspring housing. In addition, the railed frame is ready to accept accessories, and Trijicon front and rear sights are included as well.

There are three models in the  1911 R1 Tactical lineup: the double stack threaded, double stack non-threaded, and single stack. The double stack threaded has a 5.5-inch barrel; the other two models have five-inch barrels. In addition, the double stack models have a 15+1 capacity, while the single stack takes things down to 8+1. Also, the double stacks weigh a little more at 41 ounces; the single stack tips the scales at 38 ounces.

MSRP on the 1911 R1 Tactical double stack threaded is $1,299. The double stack non-threaded will run you $1,275. Remington’s single stack model is the cheapest, coming in at $1,250.
