Chambered in 7.62x39mm, the MZ-47 accepts standard AK47 magazines and ammunition. It’s available in two barrel lengths: 11.5 inches and 14.5 inches. Both versions feature a hard chrome-lined bore and rifling with 6 grooves RH and 1 twist in 9.45″. The upper and lower are made from 7075 T6 aluminum. Both have a rate of fire of 650-850 RPM. Also included in this package are front and rear flip-up sights, and an ambidextrous charging handle. A semi-auto version will be offered as well.
Next up is the MZ-4P automatic rifle. This weapon utilizes a piston operating system and is available in 5.56X45mm. Like the MZ-47, it features 11.5-inch and 14.5-inch barreled versions, as well as 7075 T6 aluminum uppers and lowers. The piston operating system is touted in the press release as delivering a “consistent rate of fire while eliminating gas exiting at the rear of the rifle, even when using a suppressor.” The rate of fire here is 700-950 RPM.
Lastly, the MZ-300 is offered in 7.62x35mm (.300 AAC Blackout) with barrel lengths of nine inches, 11.5 inches and 14.5 inches. It uses standard 5.56x45mm bolts and magazines and is an “ideal solution for automatic and semi-automatic firing with short barrels and suppressors,” the company says. Meanwhile, the MZ-300 delivers “greater terminal ballistics effects such as stopping power and reduced penetration, with an option of automatic firing with suppressors.”
Emtan Karmiel will show off these three new assault rifles at the 2017 Defense & Security expo in Bangkok, Thailand next week.
“We chose to launch these three weapons in Thailand since we are aware of the need of the local and regional markets for the type of solutions we offer,” Ron Pollak, the VP Sales and Marketing at Emtan, said in a press release. “The Thai market is very important to us. We have longstanding ties with Thai forces, which have adopted quite a few of our products and are very satisfied with them. We highly appreciate this cooperation, and are working towards its continuation.”
