CMMG Mk3 CBR FDE: The .308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO has been a favorite of many snipers and hunters due to its good accuracy characteristics and the authority with which it hits. The Mk3 CBR is a rifle that takes advantage of this round’s characteristics in a semi-automatic platform. The 16.1-inch, 416 stainless steel barrel keeps the gun relatively compact without sacrificing too much velocity. CMMG uses the ACS-L buttstock and MOE pistol grip from Magpul. When combined with the Geissele SSA trigger, it makes for a comfortable, controlled shooting experience. The upper and lower receivers are precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, and the gun is finished in Flat Dark Earth.
CMMG Mk3 DTR2: The hottest long-range cartridge on the market is the 6.5 Creedmoor. Bringing its own heat to the game is the premium-quality Mk3 DTR2 chambered for this popular round. CMMG uses a 24-inch barrel made of 416 stainless steel on this gun. The barrel has a heavy-taper profile with a 1-in-8-inch twist rate for optimum accuracy. Helping you break a clean shot is the respected Geissele SSA two-stage trigger. Shooters will also appreciate the Magpul PRS buttstock. An RML15 handguard with M-LOK attachment points allows for the addition of a bipod or other shooting accessories without putting stress on the barrel.
CMMG Mk4 K: For a solid and very compact 5.56mm NATO AR, take a look at the Mk4 K model from CMMG. This gun offers many of the features a professional might want, including a handy 12.5-inch barrel. CMMG uses a 4140 steel barrel with a medium profile. It is threaded and fitted with an A2-style muzzle device. The flattop upper receiver allows for the addition of a red dot while the KeyMod handguard
allows the shooter to attach accessories like a laser or white light. Magpul provides an MOE pistol
grip and an adjustable buttstock. The triggerguard and 30-round magazine are also from Magpul.
CMMG Mk4 B18: An average shooter can wring a lot of accuracy out of a standard AR-pattern rifle. For those who want a little more precision, CMMG offers the Mk4 B18. Built on the company’s Mk4 platform, the B18 uses an 18-inch, 416 stainless steel barrel with a 1-in-7-inch twist rate. The barrel is not threaded and has a target crown for maximum accuracy. Unlike many AR barrels, this one has a distinctive stainless finish that is visible through the KeyMod handguard. CMMG uses forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers and a single-stage, mil-spec-type trigger. A 30-round Magpul PMAG is included with the rifle.
CMMG Mk4 RCE: Guns chambered for the 300 Blackout are all the rage, and CMMG offers several models in this caliber. One such example is the standout Mk4 RCE. This particular gun is considered one of the company’s premier rifles. It is equipped with a 16-inch, 4140 steel barrel sporting an SV muzzle brake. The full-length handguard uses the KeyMod accessory attachment system. Farther back, CMMG installs a Geissele SSA two-stage trigger and Magpul furniture, including the stock, triggerguard and pistol grip. A standard Magpul PMAG is also part of this kit.
CMMG Mk9LE: The Mk9 line is a series of blowback-operated firearms chambered in 9mm. Equipped with a front sight base and a folding Magpul rear sight, the Mk9LE is a full-sized carbine that is ready for duty in most any role. Even with the included sights, there is plenty of rail space for a reflex sight or other optic. Colt-style stick magazines feed the Mk9LE. CMMG uses a nitrided 16.1-inch, 4140 steel barrel with an M4 profile. Traditional two-piece handguards are used up front, matching the aesthetics of an M4-style stock and pistol grip. CMMG uses a single-stage trigger in the Mk9LE.
CMMG Mk47 Mutant AKM: Instead of engaging in the rather fruitless AR-versus-AK argument, CMMG built the Mk47 line of rifles. Consider them a blending of the best elements from each platform and built on a mid-sized, heavy-duty receiver set. The Mutants, as they are affectionately called, function much like an AR but chamber the 7.62x39mm round. More significantly, they feed from AK-type magazines and have much stronger bolts than a standard AR-15. The AKM model has a 16.1-inch barrel fitted with an SV brake and Magpul furniture. I spent a great deal of time with one of these guns when they were first introduced. I found them to be reliable and accurate. Additional Mk47 variants include pistol and short-barreled rifles.
CMMG MkG Guard PDW: One of the more exciting products recently introduced by CMMG is the MkG PDW. This is a short-barreled AR chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. The new system uses a radial delayed blowback system that allows the gun to handle the stout handgun cartridge without the need for a gas system or heavy buffer assembly. Since this version of the gun has an 8-inch barrel with a Magpul MOE stock, a $200 tax stamp pursuant to the National Firearms Act is required. In return, you get a very handy rifle that might be ideal for many people’s home defense or bug-out needs. It feeds from the same magazines used by the Glock 21 pistol. Don’t want to chase down a tax stamp from the federal government? No problem. CMMG also offers versions with 16-inch barrels.
CMMG MkW-15 Anvil XBE2: Showing the true versatility of the AR, the Anvil is built on the company’s strengthened Mutant platform and is chambered for the .458 SOCOM cartridge. CMMG uses an SLR adjustable gas block and modifies Lancer L5 AWM magazines to ensure the gun reliably runs these big-bore cartridges. A Geissele SSA trigger helps ensure accurate shot placement. On this rifle, CMMG chose to use a Magpul CTR stock and MOE pistol grip to enhance the shooter’s control of the gun. Made of 416 stainless steel, the 16.1-inch barrel has a medium-taper profile with a 1-in-14-inch twist rate. The company’s own SV brake is threaded onto the barrel to mitigate muzzle rise when shooting.
