Taking A look At Tom Hardy's Cinematic Arsenal

Tom Hardy guns Black Hawk Down — Several Rangers can be seen carrying FN Minimis throughout the film, standing in for the M249-E1 SAW. It is also the weapon used by Specialist Lance Twombly (Tom Hardy) to accidentally deafen Nelson when he fires it too close to his head. The Minimis are also fitted with circular 200-round cloth ammo bags instead of hard plastic drums.

Tom Hardy guns Rocknrolla — Handsome Bob (Tom Hardy) keeps a .38 special Smith & Wesson Model 64 revolver filled with blanks as a sidearm. Handsome Bob aims his revolver (filled with blanks) at workmen who attempt to apprehend them after a botched robbery.

One actor that has transcended a wide range of time periods and the firearms used in them is Tom Hardy.

From 2015’s Oscar-winning film “The Revenant,” which took place in the 1820s and showcased Hardy with a musket, to “Mad Max: Fury Road” where Hardy yielded a Gen 2 Glock 17 in a dystopian future, no storyline is off limits for the actor and his guns.

Hardy, who is reportedly pro-gun, has operated a gun in nearly 50 percent of his films. so we thought it’d be fun to take a look at some of our favorites.

Hardy will be back at it again summer 2017 in the World War II film “Dunkirk,” directed by Christopher Nolan. He has also reportedly signed on for a Navy SEALS-based film called “War Party.”
