Bond Arms Releases the Stinger Fireball in .22 Mag at the 2024 SHOT Show

At this year’s SHOT Show, Bond Arms did not disappoint with its new offerings, including the lightweight aluminum-frame Stinger Fireball. Shipping in .22 Mag, the derringer is compatible with the company’s Stinger series barrels (not the Stinger RS series). As a result, you can add Stinger accessory barrels in .380, .38 Special, or 9mm.

The Bond Arms Stinger Fireball

Building on a 7075 anodized aluminum frame, the Stinger Fireball is one of Bond Arms’ lightest derringers yet at 14.4 ounces. However, the pistol is functionally identical to its Stinger counterparts, maintaining the same dimensions. Likewise, the black hard-coat anodized finish frame continues the stylish two-tone aesthetic of the Stinger series.

Like the original Stinger, the Fireball features the new B6 resin grips with diamond texturing. Additionally, the extended grip of the Stinger Fireball features a hand-filling palm swell and pinky cut to lock it into the hand. As a result, the Fireball provides secure and positive retention during courses of fire.

The new Stinger Fireball features a 3-inch barrel chambered in .22 Mag for an overall length of 5.5 inches. Likewise, the frame’s narrow 0.55-inch profile keeps the derringer at a concealed-carry-friendly width. In addition, the Fireball is interchangeable with other barrels in the Stinger series, including .380, .38 Special, or 9mm. However, the Stinger Fireball is not compatible with Stinger RS accessory barrels.

Although the frame features an aluminum construction, Bond Arms utilized stainless steel in critical areas to ensure durability. This includes the release lever, cross-bolt safety, rebounding hammer, trigger, and retracting firing pin. Correspondingly, the Fireball features a 7-pound trigger pull to release the fiery .22 Mag round. Finally, a manual ejector on the side of the barrel helps easily remove spent brass.

Editor’s Note:

I had the opportunity to handle the Fireball at this year’s SHOT Show, and the light weight was very noticeable. As a Bond Arms fan, I really loved the diminished weight of the pistol and am looking forward to shooting one. Bond Arms continues to revolutionize the derringer field and is not showing any signs of slowing down.
