iRayUSA ZOOM ZH50: 4X Variable Thermal Optic Increases Performance

The proliferation of thermal optics, bringing U.S. military-worthy capabilities into hunting and defensive units, continues its growth in the civilian market. Now a line extension with the iRayUSA ZOOM ZH50 brings even greater performance. A 4X variable-power optical zoom lens and 20X magnification eyepiece helps shooters own the night.

The ZH50 features InfiRay’s dual-field-of-view design. It enables users to switch between a wide field of view (FV) for detection, quickly switching to narrow FV for target identification, according to iRayUSA. The optic transitions from a base 2X magnification to 4X with a twist of the objective focus ring. The unit maintains 100-percent of the sensor’s native 640×512 resolution, according to iRayUSA.

The ZH50 features a software-based non-uniformity correction (NUC). It utilizes an algorithm, operating completely silent, saving battery power. It also features an AMOLED viewing display in full HD 1440×1080 resolution. The display provides the most clarity possible, according to iRayUSA. Further, images and live video transfers wirelessly via the InfiRay Outdoor app. The optic also records onboard with the ZOOM’s 32gb internal storage.
