Magpul just dropped its latest stock accessory, filling a very particular niche. The UCS comprises a lightweight stock system for semi-auto carbines utilizing a vertical M1913 Picatinny rail at the rear of the receiver.
Magpul UCS (Universal Carbine Stock)
The UCS design accommodates a wide variety of charging handle styles, ejection port locations and controls, according to Magpul. It features a reversible hinge for for left or right folding configurations, along with five degrees of drop for clearance.
The UCS stock ships with two reversible cheek risers (0.50 and 0.75 inch). When combined with the reversible M1913 clamp (allowing for a 1/2-slot height adjustment), the design enables shooters to dial in head placement for an optimal sight picture using iron sights or optics.
Magpul’s UCS offers 3 inches of length of pull, across six different adjustment positions. Shooters simply manipulate the length via the LOP buttons. Weighing a mere 18 ounces, the UCS includes a reversible, anti-rotation QD socket for sling attachment. The system is compatible with MOE SL and DT buttpads.
