NRA Announces America’s Rifle Challenge Competition

The NRA Competition Shooting Division announced the creation of a new event, the America’s Rifle Challenge. The all-AR-based match builds and tests skills for shooters of all experience levels. The inaugural match takes place April 19 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. The match features two different competition divisions, complete with NRA prizes and awards for competitors and match winners.

NRA’s America’s Rifle Challenge to Test Competitors

Level 1

The Level 1 course of fire features targets from 10 to 100 yards. It consists of competitors firing from different shooting positions under time constraints. This level of competition challenges AR owners looking to build skills and challenge themselves, shooting in various positions under time limits. This course of fire is appropriate for newer and experienced shooter. Target size, time limits, and positional shooting requirements provide an exceptional test of skill and accuracy. The Level 1 match limits to the first 32 competitors registered, competing in four squads.

Level 2

The Level 2 course of fire covers the full spectrum of what is possible with an AR. Competitors will face a variety of stages designed to test skills. Courses include shooting and moving, positional shooting and long-range precision. It also features speed, stage planning, use of barricades and close-quarters engagements. Level 2 offers a higher round count and more dynamics to the stages. The Level 2 match will limit to the first 60 competitors, competing in six squads.

After the shooting has completed, NRA Competitive Shooting invites competitors to stick around for a free BBQ lunch for all competitors and one immediate family member or friend watching the match. American Rifleman TV and ShootingUSA will be filming the match and conducting interviews with competitors and spectators.
