Ruger Custom Shop Precision Rifle Launches in 6.5 Creedmoor

Ruger just announced an update to its Custom Shop offering of rifles. The Ruger Custom Shop Precision Rifle now comes in 6.5 Creedmoor, bringing yet another high-end, competition-ready bolt gun to shooters.

Ruger Custom Shop Precision Rifle Update

This comes via a collaboration with world champion shooter and Team Ruger Captain Doug Koenig. It includes a TriggerTech Trigger incorporating Frictionless Release Technology. The system provides a crisp break, minimized overtravel and a short reset, according to Ruger. A unique barrier stop resides along the front of the magazine well. It should provide ample purchase when driving the gun into a barrier during competitions. Inside, the rifle updates with improved firing pin tip geometry, enhancing functional across a wide variety of primers, according to Ruger.

The rifle sports a custom, heavy-contour (.850″ at muzzle), accurate free-floated barrel. The cold hammer-forged barrel comes from chrome-moly stainless steel, cut with 5R rifling. Ruger air gauges for minimum bore and groove dimensions. Meanwhile, a centralized chamber delivers accuracy and longevity, according to Ruger. The barrel comes with a 1:7.5″ twist, 5/8″-24 threaded muzzle and APA Muzzle Brake.

The Ruger Precision Rifle provides a wonderful base model to build for long-range competition.
