The Springfield SAINT—the company’s first-ever AR released late last year—is now ready to rock with a free float handguard.
By adding a patent pending free float handguard system with a pinned low-profile gas block on this latest Springfield SAINT AR-15 model, the end user can now grip the full length of the handguard without impediment. The handguard sports a hard-anodized aluminum design and accepts M-LOK accessories for easy and varied customization. Meanwhile, the pinned gas block “runs wobbly set-screw alternatives right off the battlefield,” Springfield says.
This new version of the Springfield SAINT also sports an elevation-adjustable, flip-up front sight and a dual aperture flip-up rear sight that can be folded down or co-witnessed with optics. Surrounding the enhanced nickel-boron coated, single-stage GI trigger is a Bravo Company trigger guard and Bravo Mod 3 pistol grip.
The upper and lower on the Springfield SAINT boast a type III hard-anodized 7075 T6 aluminum construction and are locked together via Springfield’s Accu-Tite tension system. The SAINT’s M16 bolt carrier group is precision-machined. The bolt is made from Carpenter 158 steel, and shot peened and magnetic-particle inspected for durability.
Also included with the Springfield SAINT is a Bravo Company stock with ample cheek weld comb, dense butt pad, six positions and a tight rattle-free fit. The mid-length gas system and H-style heavy tungsten buffer helps to reduce recoil.
With an overall weight of six pounds, nine ounces unloaded, the new Springfield SAINT is well-balanced and suited for virtually any encounter.
The Springfield SAINT with a free float handguard is available at a suggested retail price of $1049.
