Carry-Optics Ruger MAX-9 Now Comes With Crimson Trace Red Dot

Back in March, we brought you news of Ruger’s latest entry into the micro-compact pistol category–the MAX-9. Featuring up to 12+1 rounds of 9mm in a highly concealable package, it became an immediate player for concealed carry. Now Ruger continues its push into this highly competitive space with a new MAX-9 complete with a factory-installed, co-witness Crimson Trace Compact Reflex Sight.

The optic delivers a 3 MOA red aiming dot, driven by a high-efficiency LED. The dot size should promote lightning-fast target acquisition. Built for carry-optics, the new variant brings demanded features into this micro-compact package. Better still, the sight automatically adjusts to the ambient lighting conditions. It also turns off whenever the included dust cover is used.

Otherwise, this option comes just like the original MAX-9. It offers both a 10-round flush-fit or 12-round extended magazine. The ally steel slide features a Black Oxide finish, while the grip frame comprises of glass-filled nylon. The barrel measures a mere 3.20 inches overall, with the entire pistol measuring just 6 inches in length. Weighing in at 18.4 ounces (without optic), it should hold up well for all-day wear.

For fans of micro-compact, we’ve for sure entered the golden age. Multiple companies now offer iron-sighted and optics-ready platforms, pushing more and more 9mm rounds into desirable compact packages. Now Ruger does it again, complete with a red dot optic. What’s not to love?
