Ideal for target shooting, plinking, or small game hunting, 1250 in the name refers to the max velocity (with lead pellets). However, it offers higher velocities with lead-free pellets. The Hatsan SpeedFire Magnum 1250 Air Rifle
Featuring a modern precision rifle design, the Magnum 1250 has a black polymer, ambidextrous thumbhole stock. In addition, Hatsan’s SAS (Shock Absorber System), Monte Carlo check rest, and ventilated rubber butt pad help mitigate felt recoil. Likewise, a textured grip and forend offer a comfortable feel and enhanced control.
The blued steel receiver hosts the 7-inch-long optics riser rail with built-in dampeners to help reduce the dual recoil impulse. Correspondingly, the rail accommodates both 11mm dovetail and Picatinny mounting options and features a metal scope stop. The Magnum 1250 comes with a 3-9x40mm Optima scope and rings.
Chambered in your choice of .177 or .22 caliber, the SpeedFire is fed by a rotary Rapid Performance Magazine (RPM). The included magazines (2) have a capacity of 12 rounds in .177 and 10 rounds in .22. Once loaded and placed into position, the EZ Load Action System automatically loads a pellet with each cocking stroke of the rifle.
Sitting atop the EZ Load Action System is a green fiber optic rear sight, which is micro-adjustable for windage and elevation. Correspondingly, the rear sight works with the fold-down red fiber optic front sight.
Rounds are sent downrange through the 14-inch rifled QuietEnergy barrel via Hatsan’s two-stage Quattro Match Trigger—adjustable for pull and travel. Utilizing a Vortex Gas Piston powerplant eliminates the use of a mainspring, reducing vibration and supplying the magnum power level. Additionally, an integrated sound moderator coupled with the QuietEnergy barrel reduces the sound report.
The .177 caliber lead pellets have a velocity of 1250 FPS, and the .22 lead pellets have a velocity of 1000 FPS. However, lead-free pellets provide a velocity of 1340 FPS (.177) and 1250 FPS (.22). Finally, the automatic safety/bear trap feature sets the manual safety to “on” when the barrel is broken.
