The IWI Zion-15: Kinsey’s Inc. Collaboration in Woodland Camo

Back in 2020, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) introduced its Zion-15, M4-style carbine (story below). The rifle garnered popularity due to its departure from typical IWI offerings, but with the same quality the company is known for. And now, IWI partnered with well-known firearms distributor Kinsey’s Inc. for a Special Make Up (SMU) exclusive woodland camo collaboration.

Utilizing the same M4-style carbine platform, the exclusive Zion-15 remains mostly unchanged. Measuring an overall 33 inches, with the Adjustable B5 stock collapsed, the rifle features a 15-inch free-float handguard. The handguard has a Picatinny rail running the entire length of the top and M-LOK slots surrounding its circumference. As a result, you can attach any number of optics or other accessories.

Housed within the handguard is the 16-inch 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel with 6 RH groove rifling and 1:8 twist. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, the Zion-15 features a mid-length gas system coupled with a direct impingement operating system.

The exclusive Kinsey’s model features the highly sought-after Cerakote M-81 woodland camo finish. As a result, the rifle not only has a classic styling, but the finish also ensures the long life of your rifle.

Available in two models, the bare rifle itself has just begun shipping its pre-orders and is available for new orders. However, a package will be available at the end of August with the Sig Sauer Romeo and Juliet MSR optic installed. The package comes at a slightly higher price, but the addition of the Romeo red dot and Juliet magnifier provides a value add.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring this exclusive Zion-15 to our customers,” said Justin Gorman, VP of Sales and Marketing at Kinsey’s Inc. “The Zion-15 is a clear mover, this is a gun dealers can count on to move in any market, add in a one-of-a-kind Cerakote finish, and this gun will jump off shelves.”

The Kinsey’s Inc. and IWI Zion-15 collaboration is available now with an MSRP of $966.99. A Zion-15 package, with Sig Romeo and Juliet MSR optic, will be available in late August with an MSRP of $1,459.99. For more info, please visit KinseysInc.com.

On March 16, 2020, Tactical Life reported:

Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) produces a number of solid firearms; perhaps none more popular than the IWI Tavor. The most recent iteration of that Tavor line is the IWI Tavor 7, which is a serious alternative to ARs and AKs. The manufacturer, however, recently made headlines for something different — well, at least for IWI. It announced its very first M4-style carbine: The IWI Zion 15. Sure, the rifle comes a little late to the party and enters an extremely crowded field. But at first glance, there’s a lot to like about the Zion.

IWI Zion 15 Details

The Zion sports a 16-inch barrel constructed of 4150 chrome moly vandium, along with a 15-inch free float handguard. A B5 System Stock and grip come standard, as does a 30-round Magpul PMAG. The stock collapses down to 33 inches and pushes out to 36.25 inches fully extended.

IWI broke new ground wight the debut of its first AR-style rifle, the Zion-15.

Known for the Tavor, UZI and even the Jericho and Masada pistol, the Zion presents an interesting turn for IWI. A product clearly focused on American market, it opens the door for so much more development in this realm.

Any way you cut it, the AR-15 remains the most popular rifle type in America. So IWI, welcome to the party. You seem off to a solid start. For more information, visit iwi.us.com. For a review of the popular Jericho 941 from IWI, please visit PersonalDefenseWorld.com.
