Remington Ammunition has recently discovered an issue related to its 12-Gauge Premier Accutip ammo and issued a recall notice. This is an important safety recall and should be taken seriously, as use of this product could result in firearm damage or personal injury. Remington Ammunition Issues Recall Notice on 12-Gauge Premier Accutip Ammo
According to Remington, it has been determined that boxes in certain lot numbers of Premier Accutip Slugs may contain shells with an incorrect propellant. As a result, the use of the ammo referenced may cause personal injury or damage to your firearm. For this reason, if you have any of the ammo from the lots listed below, discontinue use immediately.
The affected ammunition is the Remington 12-Gauge Premier Accutip 2-3/4-inch Sabot Slug. Correspondingly, the lot codes listed in the recall notice are L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, and L06ZC527. Lot codes are found on the inside flap of the individual box or along the outside of a product case (see photo above).
If you have any of the referenced ammo with matching lot codes, Remington asks that you discontinue use immediately. Additionally, the company asks that you contact them at 1-800-243-9700. The Remington Ammunition Customer Service Department will reach out to arrange the return of the ammo.
Once Remington receives the affected ammo, it will send replacement ammunition at no cost to you. We reached out to Remington for more information on how long the replacement will take, and it will be a few months.
According to the representative, they will not be making the ammo again until the beginning of March. This is because hunting season is over, and that is the next production cycle. However, if you do not want to wait, Remington will reimburse you immediately for the affected ammo.
