VIDEO: Daniel Horner Signature SIG P320-XFIVE DH3 Pistol Built to Win

With apologies to Jerry Micuelk, Rob Leatham, Doug Koenig and more–Daniel Horner is arguably the greatest shooter of all-time. Though he’s typically operated nearly exclusively in 3-gun and sniper/precision rifle matches, Horner can do it all. Now he’s put his name to a signature pistol built to compete and win, just like him. Say hello to the SIG P320-XFIVE DH3.

SIG P320-XFIVE DH3 Details

Horner served as the caption of the Action Shooting Team within the vaunted U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, where he competed for 13 years. Now he shoots for Team SIG. Horner also trains the U.S. military’s elite, delivering his incredible experience into a package for our warfighters. Who better to design the next elite duty/competition pistol?

“If I’m putting my name behind something, it has to be the best,” Horner said. “When I set out to design a signature pistol, I wanted to combine my experience with training combat soldiers and the unflinching reliability that that world demands with the flat, fast-paced shootability with of an elite competition gun.”

So Horner and SIG worked together, building on the rising P320 platform. The pistol features an optic-ready stylized slide complete with suppressor-height XRAY3 day/night sights. The sights co-witness with optics for the ultimate in speed.

A DH3 Silicon Carbide treated Coyote Cerakote TXG Grip module comes on the P320-XFIVE DH3.

The upgraded P320 utilizes a silicon carbine surface over the grip for maximum purchase. The TXG tungsten-infused grip module sports a Cerakote Coyote Tan finish. A flared mag well accepts one of the three, 21-round magazines included with the pistol.

This pistol comes similar to the P320-XFIVE LEGION. It includes a 5-inch match-grade bull barrel and one-piece stainless steel guide rod. It utilizes both a 14- and 12-pound 1911-style recoil spring. So shooter’s can tune it somewhat to get the feel they desire. When viewed from a whole, the DH3 brings the most exciting P320 variant yet for competition shooters.

“If I could only have one pistol, this is the one I would reach for every time,” Horner said.

Editor’s Note:

We’ve been lucky enough to spend range time with a host of great, incredible shooters over the years. But few bring every time they step on the range quite like Daniel Horner. In the most complicated shooting sports–3-gun and sniper shoots–Horner dominates. Walk a stage prior to a match one time, and you’ll be in awe of the strategy, attention to detail and processing that goes into every stage breakdown–every target array even.

A gun built to Horner’s specs will surely stand apart. Kudus to SIG for utilizing their team shooter. At first glance, this pistol brings everything a shooter could want in a high-end, flat-shooting package. We hope to get one in for testing real soon. Stay tuned.

A match-grade, 5-inch bull barrel should promote tremendous accuracy from the DH3 pistol.
