Nonprofit Needs Volunteers to Teach Youth Shooting Programs

A Florida nonprofit dedicated to youth shooting sports is looking for volunteers to help teach two of its programs.

According to Central Florida Future, SAFE of Florida, Inc. needs somebody to teach its Eddie Eagle GunSafe program, which promotes “gun avoidance and trust in adult authority figures” for children between ages five and nine. This program, which is free of charge, includes coloring books, workbooks and stickers for kids, as well as a gun-safety brochure for parents.

The second program is the Youth Shooting Outreach Program in Central Florida. This program involves safety training and target practice via SAFE’s portable eight-lane range. The target practice includes one-on-one guidance from a rifle instructor. The program is three hours long. It is designed for children between the ages of 10 and 17.
